From November 6 to 10, the 1st World Mariachi Congress will take place in Mexico City, organized by the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco). The event will feature free and paid concerts to be held in the Cuauhtémoc borough.

José de Jesús Rodríguez, president of Canaco CDMX, reported that an economic impact of around 136 million pesos is expected, with the participation of 44 recognized mariachi groups at the national and international levels. The goal is to promote the inscription of Mariachi in the UNESCO Representative List as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and to encourage tourism in Mexico City.

Among the venues where concerts will take place are the Auditorium of the Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center, the Jaime Torres Bodet Cultural Center of the National Polytechnic Institute, and Expo Reforma, as well as free public gatherings in the Alameda del Sur, in Coyoacán.

At the inauguration in Plaza Garibaldi, Mariachi 2000 of Cutberto Pérez, Mariachi Gallos de México, and Mariachi Sonidos de América will perform. In addition, there will be galas at the Alejo Peralta Auditorium of the IPN and the Theater of the Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center, as well as festivities in Alameda Sur.

The mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, assured that security will be reinforced at the public events of the congress in collaboration with the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) and local projects such as "Base Diana" and "Cuauhtémoc Brilla." Rojo de la Vega emphasized the importance of working together with government bodies to address insecurity in the district, reiterating the reconnection of the Monitoring Center now called "Base Diana" in honor of the Diana Cazadora.
